SOL Day 20 – Thankful

Today I was reminded how thankful I am to be working with such enjoyable colleagues. This is for them.

I am thankful for a thinking partner who shares my working space. When I’m stuck she’s there to offer advice and support. When I’m down she’s there to make me smile. And when something’s gone well she’s there to help me celebrate. I learn so much each time we chat. She pushes me to think more deeply, to be a little bit more bossy, and to do great work.

I am thankful for a boss that validates our hard work. Days are not always easy and sometimes they feel long, but I’m happy to know there is someone out there rooting for me and supporting the work I do.

I am thankful for a group of colleagues who stretch my brain. Each one has his or her own strengths and areas of expertise. I can learn for each of them. I am thankful for a group of colleagues who are kind. Our schedules are often opposite, meaning we don’t always get to spend a lot of time together. But when I see each one I can count on a smile, a thoughtful chat, or a humorous anecdote.

I am thankful for this work community I joined this year.
